WFI TO BEGIN DEV ON LIMITED SCRIPTED DRAMA - CHARLOTTE

WFI is proud to announce the development of a new scripted limited drama series, Charlotte, based on the life experiences of Tastawiniyew Otipemisiwak (two-spirit Métis) elder, Charlotte Nolin.

Charlotte Nolin is a Treaty 1 based elder, activist and healer, offering her wealth of lived experience as a means to guide her community and offer support and guidance. Charlotte is a survivor of the Sixties Scoop as well as Indian Day Schools, and has faced a lifetime of prejudice as she struggled to connect her two-spirit nature. Having survived struggles with addiction, institutionalized racism, homophobia and transphobia, Charlotte now serves as a beacon for her fellow two-spirit and trans people, sharing her story with individuals across Turtle Island in an effort to inspire the next generations of queer Indigenous people.

Charlotte is currently in the early stages of development, proudly supported by the Indigenous Screen Office. WFI is proud to bring more visibility to Charlotte’s triumphant story, and to bring greater representation to two-spirit Indigenous people in the stories we craft.
