SARAIN FOX EARNS CANADIAN SCREEN AWARD FOR HER WORK IN WFI’S ‘INDIGIQUEER’

Sarain Fox took home the Canadian Screen Award in Toronto this week for Best Interviewer for her incredible work in Wookey Films’ one-hour documentary, Indigiqueer. The whole Wookey Films team is beyond proud to have collaborated with Sarain who also directed the piece which was EP’d and co-written by Jérémie and Janelle Wookey. The film follows Sarain as she meets with folks from all walks from across Turtle Island who, like her, are living at the intersection of queerness and Indigeneity. The show was produced for Rogers and premiered nationally on City Tv in 2023 as part of the Veracity documentary series. Wookey Films wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Sarain for her work on this film and to all those who courageously agreed to share their stories and speak their truth on screen to help us tell this important story.
