After 5 amazing seasons, it is with mixed emotions that we announce that season 5 (premiering in Fall 2021) will be the final season of Comment devenir adulte, Wookey Films’ first flagship series.

Over the course of these past 5 seasons, we have had the honour of sharing the stories of 20 brave young people and their families who so generously opened themselves up to our show and to its pan-Canadian audience. We followed each of them for a year as they navigated the ups and downs of adolescence, proudly creating a unique co-viewing experience for families from all walks who watched on Unis Tv. The show was also subsequently made available on its streaming platform, Unis.tv as well as on Radio-Canada’s popular tou.tv where it continues to gain a strong following. The show made it to number 1 for Unis a couple of times during its run and we cherish deeply the wonderful relationship we had the opportunity to build with a broadcaster who shares a sincere and authentic interest in the vibrance and vitality of Canada’s french-speaking communities outside of Québec.

Jérémie has been at the creative helm of Comment devenir adulte, as Show runner since Season 1 started in 2016. He and Janelle wish to express their eternal gratitude and appreciation to the hard working, talented team behind CDA Season 5 – Denise Darling, our Creative Production Manager, Alix Cameron, Field Director and Jesse de Rocquigny, our Director of Photography. It is incredible that this team was able to tell such compelling stories about a group of young people who spent most of the past year in isolation due to Covid.

Janelle and Jérémie would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who gave so much of themselves on seasons 1-4 beginning with Mylène Simard who Directed seasons 1, 2 and 3 in Winnipeg and Toronto, Matt Schween who set the tone for the show as DP on seasons 1 and 2, Chaz Beaudette who Field Directed Season 1, Marlène Desaulniers-Bernard who Production Managed 1, 2 and 3 and Toronto DPs on seasons 3 and 4 Chris DeRosa and Luke McCutcheon. Special thanks also to Laurence B. Lemaire, Annick Marion, Trevor Hnatowich and mentor Ève Tessier-Bouchard who each played key roles at the conception stage.

The WFI team would again like to thank all of the cast members and their families for their courage, trust and generosity.

As hard as it is to say goodbye to a show we care deeply about and are so proud of, our team is very much looking forward to turning our focus to the exciting new projects we have on the horizon. Stay tuned!!
