SYNOPSIS

Just before she passed away, the mother of the Franco-Métis community in Manitoba, Augustine Abraham, challenged youth to forge the Métis identity in their image. As a response to this call, Janelle Wookey launched an unprecedented social and cultural project. She appeals to members of her generation to participate in 100métis.ca: a website gathering testimonials by citizens of the Métis nation collected by the young people themselves. The goal: to collect 100 videos. In a film retracing the “making of” of this ambitious online project, Janelle discovers the challenges facing the Métis of today.
